Here Are Some Hacks For A Cleaner Kitchen

The kitchen is the heart of many homes. Keeping it sparkling clean can be a challenge for even the biggest clean freaks. With everything that goes on in there, from deep-frying to sautéing and everything in between, it isn’t any wonder. The following tips give you an arsenal of cleaning hacks that will certainly make your kitchen a cleaner place.

1. Use Vinegar To Remove Hard Water Stains

It doesn’t matter how much you clean your kitchen is. If your sink is loaded with hard water stains, it brings the overall beauty of the room down. To remove hard water stains from a stainless steel sink and/or faucets, dampen a sponge or cloth with white vinegar and wipe. The vinegar dissolves the hard water deposits almost on contact and leaves behind a clean, sparkling finish.

2. Get Rid Of Fruit Flies With Ease

Fruit flies are a constant annoyance in many kitchens. You can eradicate the fruit flies easily by combining the power of lemon with the heat of your oven. Before going to bed, place two halves of a lemon on the top rack of your oven. Leave the door open a little. In the morning, close the door and turn the oven on broil for a few minutes. Turn the oven off, let it cool, and throw the lemon halves away. Wipe out the bottom of your oven and voila! No more fruit flies!

3. Clean Gunky Kitchen Cabinets

Kitchen cabinets collect some of the nastiest grime in the kitchen. You can get rid of greasy, grimy buildup easily with a solution of one part vegetable oil to two parts baking soda. Work the paste into the wood using a sponge or cloth and wipe any excess away.

4. Bring Back A Porcelain Sink’s Glory

A white porcelain sink makes any kitchen look fresh and bright, but it also stains very easily. Over time, the stains build up causing your sink to look dingy and old. Bring back its original glory quickly using baking soda and lemon. Cut a lemon in half and sprinkle baking soda in the sink. Use half of the lemon to scrub the baking soda over the sink’s surface. Rinse well with warm water.

5. Disinfect A Garbage Disposal

Garbage disposals are wonderful inventions, but they can get pretty stinky over time. Freshen up a smelly garbage disposal by dropping a few frozen white vinegar cubes down and turning it on. Run fresh water to rinse it all down.

6. Brighten Kitchen Grout

Dirty grout isn’t just a problem in the bathroom. Bring back grout’s bright white by rubbing it with a paste made from baking soda and water. Let it sit for a few minutes then spray it with white vinegar. After the fizzing stops, wipe it all clean.

7. Clean The Air, Too

No matter how clean a kitchen is, sometimes it just doesn’t smell clean. With all the delicious meals you cook, smells can linger for a long time. Return the air to a more neutral scent by simmering some vinegar on the stove. While it’s simmering, you’ll smell the vinegar, but once you turn it off, the vinegar smell, along with any other funky smells, will be gone!
