Ideas for Using Mirrors to Brighten Your Home

Without a doubt, mirrors make great decorating pieces. In small spaces, they can make the room look and feel bigger. When strategically placed in low-lit areas, they can reflect light and make the room brighter.

Mirrors come in all shapes and sizes, so if you have a few on hand, check out the ideas below for inspiration.

1. Hanging/Matching Mirrors

If your space is all about symmetry, why stop at matching lams? Add a couple of matching brass-framed mirrors that hang from chains to amp up the calming symmetry in the room.

2. Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

If you have a plethora of small mirrors and aren’t sure what to do with them, this idea is for you. Paint them all a matching color, leaving one or two a complementary color. Hang them all on the same wall, sporadically and without symmetry. Hang them high and hang them low, but don’t hang them in a row.

3. Entryway Antique Mirrors

Large antique mirrors make the perfect accent in an entryway. While they make a lovely statement on their own, try hanging them in an overlapping fashion for even more appeal. If you have a wooden bench on hand, place it underneath for a charming and welcoming way to invite people into your home.

4. Bubble Mirrors

If you’re looking for a fun, glam look in your bedroom, grab yourself several round mirrors in varying sizes. Place them from floor to ceiling in a random design. The resulting look is bubble-like, fun, and glam all at the same time.

5. 1-2-3 in a Row!

If you have a large wall, you may be tempted to use one big mirror as a centerpiece on it. While this works, your wall will make a bigger statement if you use three matching mirrors placed in a row. Look for matching mirrors that catch the eye – beaded or metal mirrors are especially pretty and make the trio the focus of your big wall.

Mirrors are not only functional but they’re also fun at the same time. Take a tip from the suggestions above and use mirrors to brighten any space in your home.
